This is my 1st stand-alone web page dedicated solely to this gun tie project.

 

What is the purpose of TheGunTieBook?

Firearm safety & education through demonstration of correct and incorrect methods of on-gun securement techniques.

 

This does not look like much of a book & what is the point?

Correct. What is shown here is a summary of only the acceptable methods using a zip tie. This is intended as a quick reference for locations where general proficiency with firearms is the norm and zip-ties are used as temporary securement.

My name is Eric

 

What are your credentials for securing firearms?

Professionally, My job centers around checking firearms for correctly applied zip ties. If you have ever been to a gun show and noticed the person at the front entrance doing safety checks on all incoming firearms, that is what I do 20+ weekends per year for over 2 decades now. I also have very personal motivation to be diligent about firearms safety since 1984.

 

Can I buy a copy of this?

No. Right now all I am doing is “test firing”. I’m expecting a great deal of public feedback through the rest of 2022. That feedback may influence final production elements.

 

What is in the rest of TheGunTieBook?

The entire book is over 60 pages (so far) with 500+ images, divided into 3 main sections.

1. How to identify all common to rare firearms by action type. Plus, how to verify the loaded/unloaded status.

2. The “Ideal", “Questionable”, & “Useless” ways to secure a firearm with a zip tie.

3. The ideal methods of securement using cable locks, trigger locks, and other commonly available options designed for on-gun securement. The complete book will be useful anytime more comprehensive instruction is needed on firearms securement. Overall, this project is about 90% finished. A few of the final rough draft pages are in the slideshow on the page.

 

What is next?

My hope is for The Gun Tie Book to become a recognized industry standard in areas it proves to be useful. Gun shows, pawn shops, hospitals, firearms retailers, and as civilian / law enforcement educational material. Getting business insurance providers/carriers to offer discounts for their customers who use this book is where I would most like to see this go.
